Hi..I have been involved with Salkehatchie for 14 years and acted as assistant director at the Penn Center camp this year. I am also a native North Carolinian and proud that Salkehatchie has "branched out" and is successful in NC. I was wandering through the website (as I always do) and missing the daily camper diary. I know that takes up a youth's evening to write and I understand many might not want to do it. But then I found the Reflections on Salkehatchie. Hillary's article made me cry - just like the diaries did last year. It shows, in such an eloquent way, why Salkehatchie is the powerful program for our youth that it is. Thanks, Hillary! And thanks, Jerry, for including it!

To all who worked on the Staton home, just wanted to let you know that by Saturday afternoon, we had the water on all sinks, toilet, etc. Great job to all who worked there. To all who worked on the Stevenson site, we had the hot water tank connected and wired and Ms. Stevenson had hot water in her house by 7:30 pm. She was still talking about all we accomplished and how she missed us. Also, Chris, Laura, and Crystal, went over and closed in the sides to the back room so that the rain could not get in. We'll continue to make the final touches this week. Have a great week, and thanks again to everyone for all the work everyone accomplished.

This was one of the best Salks I have been to by far. Jerry put on an amazing camp and the website is great. I would just like to thank all the kids at camp this year for making it what it was. Hey everybody!! I just want to say that this week was everything I wanted it to be and more! I had so much fun meeting the new people and getting closer to my youth group members and my friends I made last year at camp. My nephew, Jay Shepherd has been working with the group on the Stephenson home and I have followed the progress each day. It has been a joy to watch the videos and see the pictures of each group.
