Pictures of Homes for 2006 Camp
I have to admit that I have been somewhat slow getting pictures of homes onto the website. We have a family vacation coming up and I am trying to get a bunch of things done. If all goes well I should have some pictures on the website by the end of this coming weekend.

Favorite Moments of the 2005 Huntersville Camp
Many thanks to everyone for making it a great camp. Everyone was crammed into the church but it seemed to work out pretty well. I was wondering what everyone's favorite moment of the camp was. My personal favorites are 1) Paul Hicks singing Amazing Grace, and 2) Watching the video of the wall coming down at the Stevenson house.

How many homes should we work on this year?
It looks like we're going to have our largest camp ever in terms of number of bodies. In each of the past two years we have worked on four homes. I had planned on doing that again this year. However, with us having such a large camp we have the option of working on a fifth home assuming that we can find a fifth home and that we have enough skilled adult leaders. So here's the choice we're faced with .... with four homes we'd have larger teams (12 - 14 people per team) .... with five homes we'd have smaller teams (8 - 10 people per team). I'm curious as to whether anyone has an opinion on what we should do. Let me know what you think.

Salkehatchie 2005
Hey everybody! Thanks for everyone who came to the reunion this past weekend..I had a great time catching up with everybody and even meeting some new people! I just wanted to say that I might have to do an internship this summer for 7 weeks through July 29th which might mean that I can't do Salkehatchie. The problem is, I would rather participate in Salkehatchie than do anything else in the whole world. The people I have met there and the experience that I had during that week means so much to me, I would hate to see that I couldn't do the same this year. I have one thing that might convince my parents to not make me do this internship over the summer...If I could have a few people from Salk send me a letter telling my parents how important the Salkehatchie experience is, then maybe I can show them how much it means to me that I be there this summer..I hope things will work out for me so that I can be there and see everybody again this summer. I'll keep everybody updated.. ~Kelsey Blackburn

Thanks to everyone for making it a great reunion weekend!
Despite the crazy weekend it seems like everyone had a good time. Hope you all got home safely. Thanks for braving the weather. Special thank you's to the folks in Huntersville who made it happen .... the families who took in guests on Friday evening, the Brittains (Perry, Lynn, Laura & Mark), Chris Kerns, David Branch, Sandy Rogers, Billy & Vicki Rintz, Pam & Dan Elsass (who helped make breakfast on Sunday) and Mona Kita. Hope we will see you all in the summer!

Hey y'all
Hey yall...I'm really really sorry I couldn't make it up there; 2 of my friends were in a car accident Friday right before we were supposed to leave, and I wanted to make sure they were ok. I had to spend 2 hours in the ER, but they're both alright now. I want to thank Larry and all the ppls in our youth group for waiting for me though...thanks, guys. And hey, we'll work out something we can see each other sometime! I REALLY MISS ALL OF YOU SOOO MUCH...and if it weren't for the snow, I would try and make it up there today.

Lousy weather for the reunion ..... What should we do?
As you might be aware there is a chance that we'll have some really bad weather this coming weekend. The reunion is at risk. Things could change significantly in the next 12 hours and we might have nothing to worry about. But it also could get ugly. It appears that Friday and Sunday are going to be fine. Saturday could be a real problem with snow and freezing rain. It's possible that we could still have the reunion and just curtail our Saturday activities ..... for example, eliminate the driving and spend most of our time around the church or do things that keep us close to the church. Let me know what you think. We've really been looking forward to this.

How can we improve the Huntersville Camp in 2005?
We've worked hard the last two years building the Huntersville Camp. We're pleased with the results so far. However, we're always looking for ideas and ways to make it better. What can we do to improve? If there's something you think we could do to make the camp better let us know.

Should we work on homes in Charlotte during the 2005 camp?
In 2003 during our first Salkehatchie camp in Huntersville we only worked on homes in Huntersville. In fact all the homes were within 3 miles of the church. Logistically it was really convenient. Everybody was close together and we were all able to eat lunch together. In 2004 we had two homes in Huntersville and two in Charlotte. We felt that was important to expand the program into Charlotte since there is a need for a program like ours. However, it was a lot more challenging in terms of planning. That being said, we were pleased we went into Charlotte. We got some much needed exposure there and we really helped out homeowners who had no where else to turn. I'm curious what everyone else thinks about working in Charlotte during our 2005 camp. We'll very likely have enough homes to choose from in Huntersville if we just want to work near the church. Let me know what you think.
