You Can Make A Donation

It takes a lot to run a camp for 50 youth and adults. Funds donated to support the Huntersville or Shelby Salkehatchie Camp can be used to cover our many expenses such as building materials, meals and in-camp expenses. United Methodist Church congregations in the Western North Carolina Conference can make a donation to the Salkehatchie Summer Service Huntersville Camp through the Advance Special provision.

Are You Renovating Your Home?

If you are, we can probably use some of the things you are replacing. Used kitchen cabinets, bathroom vanities, electrical fixtures, curtains, windows and sinks that are in good condition can usually be re-used in our Salkehatchie homes.

You Can Help Feed Us

If you are a church or organization in the Huntersville, NC area you can sponsor lunch or a dinner for our campers. Over the course of the week we have to prepare between 800 and 1000 meals. Donated meals mean that more of our funds can go towards helping our homeowners

You Can Donate Building Materials and Supplies

There are always things that you need around a building site. Paint brushes, paint rollers, roofing nails, work gloves, safety glasses, masking tape are things that we use a lot during the week. Leftover paint from your last household project will probably be put to good use at our camp.

We Can Always Use Snacks to Keep Our Workers Going

working in the hot July sun can make you burn a lot of calories and lose a lot of moisture. Consider making a donation of some snacks or bottles of water. Treats like popsicles or watermelons are always popular and always appreciated.

Are You a Tradesperson willing to Donate Some of Your Time?

If you are a plumber, electrician or licensed contractor we can use you to lead specific projects. You don't have to be a full-time member of the camp but we could certainly use your help for a couple of days. If you're interested in participating in a great mission project and helping youth learn some new skills as well as promoting your business Salkehatchie could be what you're looking for. Tax receipts are provided on request for all donated services.

Thank you for your interest in Huntersville Camp. If you have any questions regarding the Huntersville Camp or would like to know how you can support the camp please send an email to the Huntersville Camp Director.
